Tip: If there isn’t mentioned which kind of stitches should be crocheted in the new round, the crochet piece usually consists almost exclusively of a certain kind of stitches an then this is meant as well. For example Amigurumis are mainly crocheted with double crochet stitches and then this instructions always means double crochet stitches.

Crochet – double every … stitch

Tip: This simple way of counting is suitable for beginners, but increases will be clearly visible. For many crochet pieces that isn´t that bad or even desirable. But for others it´s still ugly to look at, for example when crocheting Amigurumis. If you already have some practice and want to get invisible increases when crocheting, you should offset them. The increase always is on the 2nd stitch and the first stitch is crocheted as usually.

The increase always is on the 5th stitch and the stitches from the first to the 4th are crocheted as usually.

Double every … stitch

This is always the same rhythm, no matter what kind of stitches you should double. You always count up to the stitch of the increase and then start over. The increase is always on the last stitch and the stitches before are crocheted as usually.
